9. IHRM Models

  • Perlmutter's Model:
    • Focuses on the degree of centralization or decentralization of decision-making in HR.
    • Includes ethnocentric, polycentric, regiocentric, and geocentric approaches.
  • Dowling's Model:
    • Emphasizes the influence of the country of origin, host country, and third country nationals on IHRM activities.
  • The Harvard Model:
    • Focuses on the strategic role of HRM in achieving organizational goals.
    • Considers factors such as situational factors, stakeholder interests, employee influence, and HRM policies and practices.
